Visiting New Hampshire
Winter in New Hampshire is a picturesque landscape – the type of thing you’d see on the back of a greeting card, or maybe even in a holiday-themed television commercial. Pleasant as it may be to view, New Hampshire will be a snowy and cold destination this spring, so be sure to pack accordingly when you visit – gloves, scarf, decent coat; all needed.
Whether you’re planning on touring the northern region of the state and destinations like Franconia and Waterville Valley, or deeper into the south where you’ll find Manchester, New Hampshire will offer a wide range of excellent things to see and do this winter – and even into the early spring.
Your visit to New Hampshire will hardly be complete without a stay in Concord. Full of charms and welcoming locals, Concord can yield unmatched and unforgettable adventures. Check out the New Hampshire State House for an edifying tour, and be sure to treat the kiddos to a fun afternoon at the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center.
The Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord is easily one of the state’s most exceptional event venues. Found on Main Street right in downtown Concord, the Capitol Center should be your main destinations on January 14th when you’ll have a chance to see Get The Led Out live on stage. Starting at 8 p.m. you can see this one-of-a-kind Led Zeppelin tribute band.
In Manchester, one of the most exceptional venues for live events is undoubtedly the Southern New Hampshire University Arena. Known by locals as SNHU Arena, this venue hosts all the home games for the local Manchester Monarchs of the East Coast Hockey League.
Plan on catching the Monarchs in action during your early-spring visit to southern New Hampshire. It’ll be no joke when the Monarchs take on the Elmira Jackals on April 1st, 2017 at 6 p.m. Then, the very next afternoon, the Monarchs and Jackals do it all over again, only the puck drops at 3 p.m.
