Established in 1946, New England College is a public liberal arts college located in the central New Hampshire town of Henniker – just west of Concord. NEC enrolls roughly 2,000 students studying in a diverse range of fields accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

Statues of General John Stark, Franklin Pierce, Daniel Webster and John P. Hale are located on the grounds. The State House features a portico with Doric columns and Corinthian columns on the balcony.

The New Hampshire state legislature continues to meet in the Senate Chamber and the House Chamber. The offices of the Governor and Executive Council are also housed in the State House.

In the summer, the compound is open to tours and visitors can browse through over 100 pieces of Saint-Gaudens' sculptures and life's work. SNOB Film Festival
