Athletes, Franconia calls you to take the challenge at the 2012 Top Notch Triathlon August 4th. The 20th year for the triathlon, the challenge begins in scenic Franconia with athletes on bicycles for the first leg of the race – off-road bikes are recommended. A swim in Echo Lake follows before the ascent to the top of Cannon Mountain. It all adds up to a great day in the mountains of Franconia.

Concord, in the heart of New Hampshire and the center of the Capital Region, offers summer travelers outdoor recreations, museums and historic sites. Travelers on Interstate 93 know you have arrived when you see the eagle atop the gleaming gold State House dome.

Concord’s Market Days and Summer Music Festival has a new name for 2012. The Market Days Festival runs July 19th through the 21st, with a revised format designed to spread entertainment throughout downtown Concord’s Main Street area and draw larger audiences. New Hampshire Motor Speedway, north of Concord in Loudon, keeps car-racing fans entertained through summer. Check out events including May’s Vintage Racing Celebration, the 89th Loudon Classic in May or NASCAR events in July and September.

The 2012 Lenox Industrial Tools 301 is July 15th. Called the Extra-Mile, this NH Motor Speedway event is crucial for races heading into the NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase. September brings the Sylvania 300 on the 23rd. One of the premier fall Sprint Cup Series races. Plan your visit to Concord for excitement at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Foodies - don’t miss September's 23rd Annual Hampton Beach Seafood Festival. With the help of the Hampton Chamber of Commerce, the 2012 seafood festival runs September 7th through the 9th – count on it each year the weekend after Labor Day. Celebrate the end of summer with Hampton and New Hampshire seacoast restaurants serving delicious seafood, live entertainment and over 80 local artisans selling their goods.
